TEACHER, Coach, DRAMATURG.

“Aleah is extremely kind, supportive, and passionate about the arts and people. It shows in her teaching. She helped me have more confidence in my theatrical abilities.”

  • Amber Descheneaux, Student, University of Tennessee, Knoxville

Aleah has been teaching and coaching theatre and acting for eight years. Her strength lies in deep listening, compassion, and guiding artists toward curiosity and kindness while they learn about themselves through the art of acting. Her teaching experience has stretched from the South to the Midwest. She leads with anti-racist theatre practices de-centering eurocentrism, allowing historically forgotten artists, such as LGBTQ+, BIPOC, femmes, and differently abled folks, to bravely take up space.

Aleah has taught Kindergarteners to college students, with a focus on young adults. With any age group, Aleah brings her positivity and creativity into the learning space. Her student-centered teaching has an adaptable nature that allows her to specifically hone in on what each student needs. She provides an inclusive, anti-racist, and decolonized environment with diverse teaching methods and a focus on learning from her students as well. Her goal is to help the next generation of theatre artists tap into their power, discover their truth, and dive in safely to the work.
